BOURNEMOUTH IN WORLD WAR 2

Bournemouth was a busy town in World War 2, providing training, leave facilities and accommodation for visiting Allied Forces. It was particularly full with American, British and Canadian forces in the period leading up to D-Day.  The walk visits relevant sites, and photographs and memorabilia of World War 2 are shown.  Don't forget to bring along your identity card and ration book!

Your guide, who was evacuated to Bournemouth in 1941, brings to the walk his own experience of the atmosphere and sights of the era.  This walk normally starts from outside the Visitor Information Bureau in Westover Road and ends at St. Peter's Church.
