BOURNEMOUTH
Beautiful
Bournemouth - 'Where The Season Never Ends' - is arguably
Britain's top seaside resort. The
beauty of
Bournemouth lies in its natural features - the roll of the land, the
mild drama of the chines, the long curve of Poole Bay, the fall of the
gorse-clad cliffs and the seven miles of golden sands.
Robert Louis Stevenson found in the sandy curves of the Channel coast a possible substitute for the bays and promontories of his beloved Mediterranean. Thomas Hardy described Bournemouth as 'a Mediterranean lounging-place on the English Channel'.
What better way to
get to know the charm and history of the town than by taking a relaxing
walk with
local historian and guide, John Walker.
